General options

This page controls the general operation of Awasu.

• Play sound on error
  Awasu will play a sound if an error occurs.
• Mouse
  Click here to set mouse options.
  
  
• Disable all animation
  Disables all animation.
• Disable all sound
  Disables all sound.
• Disable watermarks
  Disables watermark images in channel summary pages and reports.
  
  
• Blackout times
  Click here to set times during which Awasu should not automatically update any channels.

  For example, if you want to leave Awasu running overnight on your PC at work and you know that you won't be there (hopefully).
  
  

• Show notification balloons
  Shows notification balloons when new channel content is received.

  You still need to turn on notification balloons for individual channels but this setting lets you turn them off across the board. You can also temporarily pause balloons (e.g. because you want to watch a movie full-screen) by right-clicking on the Awasu icon in the system tray.
• Disable at startup
  Disables notification balloons for new content received during the first round of channel updates after Awasu is started.

  When you start Awasu, most of your channels will usually be due for an update and receive new content when they do. If you have a lot of channels configured to show notification balloons, it can take a long time to get through them all so this option lets you disable them for the initial round of updates after Awasu starts.
• Show error notification balloons
  Shows notification balloons when errors occur.

• Run from the system tray
  Runs Awasu as a system tray application.

  Awasu will hide itself in the taskbar when minimized and will send itself to the system tray instead of exiting. To really exit the program, right-click on the system tray and choose Exit from the menu there.
• Run automatically when Windows starts
  Starts Awasu automatically when you log in to Windows.
• Start minimized
  Starts Awasu minimized.

  If this is enabled in conjunction with the Run from the system tray option, Awasu will start in the system tray only.
  
  
• Auto-load sync data at startup
  Automatically loads synchronization data when Awasu starts.
• Auto-save sync data
  Configures when Awasu should save synchronization data.

  

  Doing this during channel blackouts will give best results.

  If you configure this to happen periodically, do a test run first to make sure everything is working, and then those same settings will be used for subsequent automatic runs.

• Check for new releases
  Notifies you when new versions of Awasu are released.
• Check for new beta releases
  Notifies you when new beta versions of Awasu are released.
  
  
• Open folders at startup
  Opens all the channels in the specified folders when Awasu starts.
  
  

Mouse options

• One-click operation
  Awasu will respond to single clicks instead of requiring double-clicks.

If you have a three-button mouse, you can also configure what Awasu will do when you click with the middle button.
